Georgia is like from a fairy tale… Switzerland has Glacier Express, Austria has Mariazellerbahn, and Sakartvelo has Kukushka! Kukushka (Russian for little cuckoo) is a special mini-train for this place of extraordinary beauty. There are two trains, and each train consists of two carriages. Each wagon can carry up to 23 people. Today, the Borjomi-Bakuriani railway and the legendary Kukuška are on the list of intangible cultural heritage of Georgia. You can see the unique and attractive Borjomi Gorge at any time of the year. This place is beautiful in winter when the oldest forest in Sackartwell is covered in snow, so a Christmas trip is a great opportunity to see it. You will feel as if you are in a magical forest that you could only see in your dreams. The whole Christmas trip is fantastic and peaceful. We take photos from the train and enjoy nature.
Who is this Christmas trip for?
This Christmas trip is perfect for families with children, especially during the winter period. Winter in Sakarteveli is not as cold as in Lithuania, so this Christmas trip is a great winter escape. Hearty Georgian cuisine is made for winter, and there is nothing better than spending a cool evening in good company with a glass of quality wine or warm tea…and natural water pleasures in the open air…tea ceremonies…dinner with traditional music and dance, night tour of the streets of Tbilisi Old Town and mystical cave cities – will transport you to a parallel world of existence..
