The journey begins in Tbilisi. Our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel. You will drive about 70 kilometers into the semi-desert area near Gareja. On the way, you will stop at a local cafe to enjoy delicious snacks. David Gareža Monastery will first introduce you to Lavra Cave Monastery, which was founded in the 6th century. Lavra Monastery is a residential cave complex with a courtyard, a church and other buildings. You will continue to Udabno, where you can rest and enjoy the views of Azerbaijan from the Sakartvel side. Udabno is famous for its late 12th century painting. Millennium frescoes in Udabno depict scenes such as The Last Supper and The Exaltation of the Cross. After resting, you will go down another road and return to Tbilisi.
